Sierra Sandison, age 20, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2012. She entered the Ms. Idaho contest last year and didn’t win. She entered again this year and won. She uses an insulin pump to manage her diabetes. She didn’t know what to do with the pump for the bikini competition. After much thought, instead of trying to hide it, she decided to attached it to her bikini bottom in plain sight. Two days ago she was crowned Miss Idaho.  Her inspiration was the 1999 Miss America, Nicole Johnson, who also has Type 1 diabetes. Bring it on Type 1, it won’t stop our girls.

I had to establish a Texas corporation for a client last week. I filed the Certificate of Formation (same as our Articles of Incorporation) online with the Texas Secretary of State on Friday. On Monday I received an email with the filed Certificate attached. Amazing. There is no way to electronically file Articles of Corporation in California. You have to mail or deliver hard copies to the Secretary of State in Sacramento. And the standard processing time is about two weeks. Why is the state of Texas in the 21st century while the state of California is still learning to use the world wide web?
